Privacy Policy

In short: your subtitle files never leave your device. We only handle the personal data needed to sell and support Pro subscriptions, and that is mostly held by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.

1. Who is responsible

Whoa Mart Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through subtidy.io. Contact us at [email protected] with any privacy question or request.

2. Subtitle files

Subtidy processes subtitle files entirely inside your web browser. Files you open, paste or edit are not uploaded to our servers, and we have no access to their contents.

3. Data we process

Purchase and billing data. When you subscribe, Stripe collects your name, email address, billing country or address and payment details. We receive your email address, billing details, subscription status and payment history from Stripe. We never receive your full card number.
License key. Your license key contains an internal Stripe customer and subscription reference. It is stored in your browser so Pro stays unlocked, and is sent to our server to check that your subscription is active.
Settings. Your chosen rules and preferences are stored in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to us.
Support emails. If you email us, we keep the correspondence to answer you and handle your request.
Technical data. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver and secure the website.

4. Why we use it and our legal basis

To provide your subscription, verify your license and handle billing, refunds and cancellations (performance of a contract).
To keep financial records we are required to keep (legal obligation).
To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse such as shared license keys (legitimate interests).
To reply when you contact us (legitimate interests).

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

5. Service providers

Stripe processes payments and manages subscriptions. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Cloudflare hosts the website and runs the license check. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on the site, which means your browser requests font files from Google.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, using safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent standard contractual clauses.

6. Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The site stores your settings and license key in your browser's local storage so the tool works as expected. Stripe may set its own cookies on its checkout and billing pages to process payments and prevent fraud.

7. How long we keep data

Billing records are kept for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes, generally six years after the end of the financial year they relate to. Support emails are kept for up to two years after your last contact. Data stored in your browser stays there until you clear it or choose Remove from this browser under Your plan.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email [email protected]. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or to your local data protection authority.

9. Changes

We will update this policy if our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
